Pico Mountain

Big Mountain, Small-Mountain Charm

On Thanksgiving morning in 1937, Pico Mountain came to life, equipped with a 1,200-foot rope tow powered by a Hudson motor car engine and a lot of love.

Much has changed since then, but the love that began around ninety years ago for the mountain still lives today and is as strong as ever. No other big mountain has as much small mountain charm, and no athletes love their mountain quite like Pico skiers and riders. All trails at Pico Mountain lead back to one, centralized base lodge, making it an ideal winter destination for the whole family.

Families, ski racers, and locals-in-the-know now enjoy 58 trails serviced by seven lifts, including two high-speed detachable quads. Gentle learning terrain, smooth cruisers, and classically narrow New England steeps can all be found at Pico Mountain.

Earn your turns on Pico’s thriving uphill scene, or stay active year-round at the Pico Fitness Center.

In recent years, Pico has become a hub for those looking to “earn their turns” through uphill travel. Whether it’s by skinning, splitboarding, or snowshoeing, many locals enjoy Pico’s thriving uphill scene, especially on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when the resort is generally closed.

To provide an enjoyable and orderly experience for both uphill and downhill guests on a 24/7 basis, all uphill travelers are required to follow resort rules, including the best practices outlined on Pico Mountain’s website. View Pico’s uphill policy.

Pico’s sole year-round operation is the Pico Fitness Center, open 7 days a week for new and dedicated fitness enthusiasts alike. Enjoy an all-in-one workout experience featuring a weight room, cardio equipment, a 75-foot heated lap pool, a sauna, and several workout classes.

No membership is needed to drop in. Grab a day pass at the front desk or join with a monthly membership if you’re a regular in the area. Sign-ups are all in person, so stop by during open hours to get set up by the friendly front-desk staff.
